Inventing the next Lara Croft sounds like an unusual subject for a degree but that's the aim behind a new university course.
Perhaps it can help us find the next Lara Croft
The University of Derby unveiled its new BA (Hons) degree in 'computer games modelling and animation' for aspiring animators.
The course is backed by Derby-based firm Core Design, which created Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider game.
Its studio manager Gavin Rummery said: 'It's a fantastic idea for a course. The industry needs more people. Perhaps it can help us find the next Lara Croft.'
Core reveleaed that of the 106 applications received for places on the course, none were from women.
The university plans to hold a series of taster days and a summer camp for female students in an effort to help them learn more about the subject and to attract more applications.
I'll go for it.. why not? Always wanted to be Alias, but Lara will do..
Why no women want to do this??
